A fantastic and sustainable way to explore our Biosphere Reserve from the coast through deep river valleys with ancient tangled woodland over historic stone railway bridges into the Devon countryside. The Trail passes through towns such as Lynmouth, Barnstaple, Bideford, Torrington and Ilfracombe and parts of it coincide with the South West Coast Path, the Two Moors Way and the Dartmoor Way.
31 miles of the trail from Braunton to Meeth are traffic free and bike hire is available at various locations along the trail. Tarka Trail guides are available from various shops and Tourist Information Centres throughout North Devon.

Pick up your racquet at the Tarka Tennis Centre where there is an extensive tennis programme for all ages & standards. Players from the ages of 3-90 years young can enjoy the game. Booking is required.
If sport is your thing, visit the North Devon Leisure Centre. Offering a whole host of facilities including a 25m swimming pool, 79 station gym, sports hall and 3 squash courts, you’ll be working up a sweat in no time. A friendly onsite café is a great way to put the calories back on!
